DSRC (근거리 전용통신 ) - 기본개요

1. DSRC 의 표준

Dedicated Short-Range Communications의 약어로 근거리 전용통신을 말하며,
IEEE 802.11p 기반으로, one-way or two-way로 통신하는 오토모티브를 위해 디자인된 프로토콜이다.

1998년에 FCC ( Federal Communications Commission) 에서 5.9 GHz band 중에 ITS(Intelligent Transportation Systems )의 의해 75MHz 사용하도록 허가하였다.
현재 각 나라마다 표준이 정해져있지 않으며 약간식 다르게 사용이 되고 있다.

2. DSRC의 각 나라사용

초기 DSRC는 ETC (Electronic toll collection) 목적으로 디자인된 프로토콜이기에 현재
우리나라에서도 ETC용도로 밖에 사용이 되지 않고 있다. 대표적인 예로 하이패스이며,
하지만, DSRC의 버전이 변경이 되면서, DSRC에 오토모티브에 관련된 어플을 사용하려고 한다.

현재 주로 ITU에서 DSRC를 사용하는 주도하는 국가들은 유럽,미국,일본 이며 각 표준이 다르며 적용사례들도 각 나라마다 다르다. (한국은 미국 표준을 따른다)

아래는 각 나라별 할당된 DSRC 범위입니다.

The worldwide DSRC spectrum allocation (bandwidth)

*North America: 5.850-5.925 GHz range 사용하며, bandwidth 75MHz
divided into 7 channels (each 10 MHz)

전체 bandwidth 75MHz 이며 각 채널당 10MHz 할당이 된다. 총 7 Channel
WIFI와는 다르게 Channel이 중복이 되지 않는다.

Active DSRC: The OBU incorporates RF (radio frequency) oscillator.
Passive DSRC: The OBU does not have an internal oscillator, the OBU reflect the modulated CW (continuous wave) from RSE mixed with sub-carrier.

Wireless Access in Vehicular Environments 약어로 North America 에서 정해진 표준

IEEE 1609.0: architecture (전체 구성)
IEEE 1609.1: remote management services
IEEE 1609.2: security services
IEEE 1609.3: networking services
IEEE 1609.4: multi-channel operation
IEEE 1609.5: communications manager (deferred indefinitely)
IEEE 1609.11: over-the-air data exchange protocol for intelligent transportation systems (ITS)
